About the MEXT scholarship
I receive a large number of inquiries from prospective students regarding the MEXT Scholarship.
Please note that I do not accept direct inquiries from prospective MEXT Scholarship applicants regarding supervision or acceptance. If you are interested in pursuing graduate study under my supervision, please first consult with your current academic advisor or supervisor at your home institution and ask them to confirm that I am a suitable supervisor for you and to contact me on your behalf. I will consider requests for supervision only when they are made through the applicant's current academic advisor or supervisor. Please also note that applicants must pass the entrance examination of the graduate school to be admitted to the graduate program. Being awarded the MEXT Scholarship does not by itself guarantee admission to the graduate program.
My research fields are public finance and public economics. I do not supervise research projects that are outside or substantially unrelated to these fields.
Therefore, please carefully review my research interests and publications before considering me as a potential supervisor. If I determine that your research interests are not sufficiently related to my research fields, I will not respond to the inquiry.
